Viva Las Vegas!

This past weekend Bobby and I visited Las Vegas for the first time (other than the airport). It was a lot of fun getting see all the hotels and casinos that everyone talks about--it was actually pretty educational! With all the glitz and glam, it's all pretty over the top--but it made for a fun trip. We were lucky enough to get to spend a day out on Lake Mead as well--which was a blast! But poor Bobby lost his nice goggles in the water--he said if the Hoover Dam ever broke though, he'd go back and look for them ;) Oh! And for all those of you who know who Pete Rose is, we saw him signing autographs at a little sports memorabilia shop in one of the hotels on the strip (Caesar's Palace?). Bobby went to get his autograph but apparently he only signs $100 dollar baseballs sold in the shop. Forget baseballs! Let's buy shoes! ;) We were able to get a few good shots of him anyhow and had a blast doing it. Interesting though that he's in Vegas...

Owlz Season Opens...

We were supposed to be in Las Vegas by now, but we didn't want to miss the Owlz First Pitch Night. (The Orem Owlz are the minor league rookie team for the Angels and they happen to be the reigning Pioneer League Champs.) The season ticket holder dinner was with players, management, and Angels Hall of Famer Bobby Grich. Grich had some hilarious stories and the food was good so it was worth the wait. We'll have pictures from our between semesters Las Vegas vacation late next week...stay tuned...

Another member of the family...

For those of you who haven't had a chance to meet the third member of our family, this is Gus. He's the furriest addition we're allowed to have in this complex, but he's great and funny too. Sometimes when he runs on his wheel he'll grab on with all fours and go round and round until the wheel stops--it's pretty hysterical to watch.
